FAQs 

How quickly can you deliver?

We like to get our orders out quickly so aim to get them posted within 1-3 working days for non-personalised or custom made items. Royal mail signed for 2nd class delivery is included within most product prices, they aim to deliver your items within 3 working days. This can be upgraded to signed for 1st class delivery for £3 by choosing express delivery at the checkout.   

 

Where do all your materials come from?

The majority of the materials we use are found, given to us or bought from charity shops. We are proud in our sustainable making practice.

Can you ship outside the UK?

Unfortunately, as this is expensive we do not provide it as a standard product. However, if you wish to buy a product and live outside the UK, and are willing to pay this cost, please contact us and we will try to help you out. If there is more demand for world wide shipping, we will look into the costs further. 

What are the payment methods available?

At the moment, we only accept Credit/Debit cards and Paypal payments. We use Sum Up for in person payments and special orders.

Do you do custom orders?

YES! We love them. Whether it’s something like the products we sell here or a piece of art, clothing or furniture, please fill in one of the forms on our website to start chatting to us and get a quote.

What can I send as a corporate gift?

We sell a range of items suitable as corporate gifts. These range from custom made reclaimed leather key rings (they used to be a sofa!) to personalised solid oak chopping boards and many more. Each can be completed with your company logo and receivers name. For wooden projects, we prefer the look of engraved designs using our CNC router as this gives a very clean finish that does not wear off with time or affect durability. For our leather projects we tend to use permanent ink as we find this can print the most detailed designs and hold up to heavy usage. What are the best corporate gifts for employees?

We think the best corporate gifts for employees are ones that they will actually use - and may even need in their life. Particularly in today’s society trying to do our best to minimise our impact on the environment, it is important that even gifts are useful so that they won’t end up going straight to landfill. We create products that are useful, made from sustainable materials and made to last. Maybe a personalised reclaimed leather laptop case for your employee of the month, a personalised swing for your favourite client who just had a baby or a set of solid oak table wear for the newly wed office romance. Is recycled leather real leather?

Yes, well, the leather we use is anyway. We source our leather from worn out, real leather sofas. Leather is so durable it out lasts the frame of the sofa, so we give it a new lease of life. We avoid the upcycled, ‘shabby chic’ look in favour of an elegant finish as we believe this holds up best and gives the materials we use the chance for even more years of usage. 

 

Is recycled leather ethical?

We believe it is. Leather is so hard wearing, it is a great material for everyday use items such as bags and laptop cases. Sourcing it at the point where it would otherwise end up in landfill, when it has already been used for one product, what could be better?! It is one of our favourite materials to work with.

I have some old clothes/ material, do you want it?

Currently are very well stocked and have no further room for materials, thank you for the thought though. Please donate any usable items to charity shops.

When is the last chance to buy a Christmas present?

For custom or personalised items, please make your order before the 9th of December. To guarantee shipping of all other items in time for Christmas please order before the 16th of December to avoid the Christmas rush.

Do you offer a textile repairing and tailoring textile items service?

We do, but only on specific days, follow us on Instagram (@benandhattie) and look out for when we advertise doing a repair shop day. Cost is calculated per job, items cost from £5 each. We aim do do one per term currently. For repairing wooded items contact us using the quote form.
